Royal Terrace
Esplanade
The terrace was constructed from 1816 to 1818 and is presumably named after the King's Statue that is front of the south end of the terrace. The buildings replaced the Shrubbery, which was the garden of the Royal residence Gloucester Lodge. Once completed the Esplanade was continuous as far north as the Royal Crescent.
